Every month, Identity Theft Chat will give away one Amazon Kindle to a lucky website owner who helps us spread the word.  If you are not familiar with the Kindle, check it out here.  This has been getting rave reviews from those who have bought it and you are certain to love it.

To help us spread the word, we are asking you to link over to stories that you found entertaining or worthwhile reading.  You can link over in a blog post, put a link somewhere on your website, or pretty much any way that you think would be a good way to spread the word about our stories.

The winner of our monthly contest will get:

- An Amazon Kindle
-  A link on this page over to their website for one month

This sweepstakes couldn’t be easier!  Here’s how it works:

  1. Read through one of the many stories on our site of real cases of identity theft.
  2. If enjoyed a particular story, write a blog post about it or link over to it from a section on your website.
  3. Using the form below, let us know who you are and where we can find your link.  Also let us know what story you linked to.
  4. At the end of the month we will randomly choose one submission to win the grand prize of an Amazon Kindle.  Starting the next month a new contest will begin!
  5. Every story that you link to counts as one submission in the contest, so feel free to link over to more than one story!

The contest will end on July 31st, 2009.  The winner will be notified on August 3rd and will have 3 business days to claim their prize.  If they do not claim their prize, a new winner will be selected.  Starting August 1st we will do it all over again!

Rules (and the Fine Print)

  1. Each contest period lasts from the start of the month, through the last day of the month.  Entries received at 12:01am CDT on the 1st of the month will count for that month.
  2. Each link you provide to a story will count as one entry into the contest.  There is no limit to the number of entries you can provide.
  3. The link must come from a blog or website.  Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, or other social network or media sites are not eligible.
  4. While you can link to any story as many times as you like, only one link to a story per website will be counted.  For example, if you were to provide a sitewide link to a single story, and your site had 3,000 pages, you would have one entry into the contest (not 3,000).
  5. The winner will be chosen at random from the list of valid entries.
  6. Notification will go out to the winner by email within 3 business days of the last day of the month.  If the winner does not respond to accept the prize within 3 business days of being notified, they will forfeit the prize and a new winner will be chosen.
  7. The Kindle will be purchased through Amazon.com and will be shipped using regular shipping.  There is no guarantee as to when it will arrive as we do not have control over their shipping. You will be provided with a tracking number.
  8. We have the right to invalidate any entry for any reason we may feel appropriate.  Proper notification will be sent to any invalidated entry.
